Genting Highlands: "City of Entertainment"

The Genting Highlands is a mini Las Vegas or Disneyland styled themed destination.

Genting HighlandsIt is the only place in Malaysia that you can legally gamble and during school holiday periods can become very busy.

Genting itself is over 2km above sea level and as such temperatures can sometimes be very cool. There is extensive accommodation available at Genting with 6 huge hotels plus the Awana Golf and Country Resort only a short number of kilometres away.

'The First World Plaza' is the indoor section of the theme park with 6 themed areas which are meant to resemble different parts of the world, from Times Square, London, Venice, Champs Elysees and Universal Walk. In here there are many attractions for children from rides and shops to restaurants and snow world, the only place in Malaysia where you will see snow!

As part of the 'City of Entertainment' there is a large theme park with a wide selection of roller coasters for both the young and the more adventurous among us, go carting, indoor sky diving, a cinema complex with bowling and much much more. As part of its offerings, Genting also offers many live shows from concerts to live action shows which can include everything from motorbikes to quad bikes.

The casino at Genting is open 24 hours to people who are over 21 and a strict dress code is in forced. There is a sign over the entrance that states if you Islamic you are prohibited from entering as under Islam, gambling is not allowed. Among the many games offered here is Baccarat, Mini Baccarat, Pontoon, Blackjack, French Boule, Roulette, Caribbean Stud Poker, Pai Gow, Casino War, Mini Dice, Slots, Tai Sai, Keno and Money Wheel.
