Orchid Club rooms at the Plaza Parkroyal Hotel

A Sweet Suite... Rest assured you can check-in here in style.

Even though the new Orchid Club rooms at the Plaza Parkroyal Hotel may have only been introduced to its guests for a month, the hotel has already reported a highly favourable response to this latest upscale offering.

The response comes with good reason: situated on the two uppermost floors of the hotel, these new rooms have been recently renovated, with a new wing on the top-most floor due to be completed by the end of this year.

The rooms themselves are a traveller's delight - with warm wood panels, Balinese-like furniture coupled with the classiest of finishings; the Club rooms are a cosy yet stylish pad for some good ol' rest and relaxation after a long day's adventures.

For couples, check out this interesting fixture: a glass panel separates the bedroom and the bathroom, keeping the bathtub area disclosed only by a white curtain.

It's subtle features like these that keeps the Plaza Parkroyal's Orchid Club rooms a cut above the rest, including the exclusive lounge for guests where a complimentary breakfast and high tea are provided. A butler service is also provided.

Coincidentally, orchids are also the national flower of Singapore; their unique beauty could also represent the unique and warm experience Singaporean travellers enjoy in these exquisite rooms. Elsewhere, the hotel also provides some delectable treats.

The warm, heady scent of lavender upon entering the St. Gregory Javana spa invigorated me almost immediately, making the prospect of a comfortable massage or spa treatments nearly irresistible.

The swimming pool area is beautifully resort like, with Indonesian-type terraces and artifacts, and a nearly unblocked view. Quite simply, I loved it!
